The way celebrations took place

From 2001 to 2006, people were circulating the news about this new celebration day. Each year, the celebrations happened privately here and there on the globe. No one can precisely knows where exactly all the celebrations happened, but it was surely the first Saturday of July, anywhere on earth.

The first mass mailing was sent for around 20000 Lebanese emails in 2001. In 2006, it is estimated that the number of people who got the news exceeded the 500 000.

Isabelle,
It will only be real if you:
1- fix tabouli
2- can see tabouli
3- smell Tabouli
4- taste tabouli
5- swallow tabouli
But it will be nice if you invite us for tabouli too

Tony, you forgot #6 - Digest the tabbouli :)...you are right about the
"lovers" part, but I was thinking more in quantity over the years, :) But,
it never hurts to err on the safe side.

Hamid, dropping the age and location as a courtesy to Fari.....and people
always say the Government never listens :)

Hi Friends,
It's been a while since I lst posted. I was so busy the past few weeks, and am still so busy, but when I read about the tabouleh, i couldn't but write....
faltahya el tabouleh!!! (Long live tabouleh!!)
I will make sure to prepare tabouleh next sat....but Ricardo, who came up with this "new" Eid?!!!
Weather here is awesome these days....the sun is shining, and the I've been already twice to the beach...
This brings to me a question....what are we at in this group this summer? Any plans for activities....or we are going to continue fighting?
take care all and don't forget the tabouleh....!

An annual national day, which is the first Saturday of the month of July, is dedicated to TABBOULEH where all the Lebanese people celebrate this link between each other and their home country. TABBOULEH is known as one of the famous and traditional Lebanese dish that every Lebanese loves. In this day, Lebanese and friends around the world gather in private or in public to celebrate and enjoy the taste of TABBOULLEH. This gathering demonstrates and strengthens their love and integrity with Lebanon and carries a lot of meanings to the Lebanese community wherever they are in this world. So let us all participate in the upcoming national TABBOULEH day which will be on Saturday July 06, 2002. This unique social gathering and experience that we will share all together wherever we are, will strengthen our communication, coherence and cooperation for the sake of free and independent LEBANON.

RE: Lebanese national TABBOULEH day

speaking of which, whenever i pass a takaway shop that sells tabouleh, falafel etc, i make a point of asking them if they are Turkish or Lebanese (if there is nothing indicating their nationality.) if they reply turkish, then i dont purchase from the store. i have embarked on a personal boycott of all turkish restaurants/food stores for the past 7 years or so.its not that i am racist, its just that i can not stand the fact that they call Tabouleh, falefel, hoummos, stuffed vine and cabbage leaves, mjadra etc 'Turkish' cuisine. it annoys the crap out of me- and i have even had a few verbal contacts with some turkish managers over this.

anyway, happy authentic Lebanese Tabbouleh day and Sa7a w hana!!!!

:-)

Long Live Lebanon
